Our quality control procedures
Ensuring premium quality from pre-harvest to container loading
Pre-Harvest Quality Management
The quality control process starts long before the fruit is harvested. Viet Fruit works closely with contracted growers to implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and maintain strict orchard management standards.
Field technicians conduct regular farm visits to monitor:
- Plant health and fruit development
- Irrigation and fertilization practices
- Pest and disease management programs
- Orchard hygiene and sanitation
- Compliance with approved agrochemical usage
Every production area is fully traceable, with detailed records maintained for all agricultural inputs and farming activities. This allows Viet Fruit to verify compliance with customer requirements and destination market regulations.

Residue Monitoring and MRL Testing
Food safety is a critical component of Viet Fruit’s quality assurance program. To ensure compliance with international Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), pre-harvest fruit samples are routinely collected and analyzed by accredited laboratories.
Testing includes:
- Multi-residue pesticide screening
- Verification of compliance with destination market MRL standards
- Monitoring of restricted and prohibited substances
- Risk-based residue assessment programs
Only fruit that meets the required MRL limits and food safety specifications is approved for harvest. This proactive testing program helps minimize risks and ensures full compliance with importing country regulations.
Harvest Control Procedures
Harvesting is conducted only when fruit reaches the required maturity stage. Trained harvesting teams follow strict procedures to minimize damage and maintain product quality.
During harvest, workers inspect fruit for:
- Uniform shape and appearance
- Proper color development
- Freedom from pests and diseases
- Absence of mechanical damage
- Compliance with customer specifications
Any fruit not meeting export standards is immediately segregated from the export supply chain
Packinghouse Quality Assurance
Within the packing facility, dragon fruit passes through multiple quality control checkpoints.
Key activities include:
- Cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Sorting by size, color, and grade
- Removal of defective fruit
- Monitoring of handling practices
- Verification of packaging materials
- Continuous hygiene inspections
Quality inspectors perform regular checks throughout the packing process to ensure consistency and compliance with customer requirements.
Final Product Inspection
Before packaging is completed, a comprehensive final inspection is conducted. The inspection evaluates:
- Fruit quality and appearance
- Size uniformity
- Label accuracy
- Packaging integrity
- Net weight compliance
- Traceability information
Only products that meet all quality and food safety requirements are released for shipment.

Reception and Incoming Quality Inspection
Upon arrival at the packing facility, each lot undergoes a detailed quality inspection. Quality control personnel verify:
- Farm and lot traceability documentation
- Harvest dates
- Fruit size and weight
- External appearance
- Defect levels
- Cleanliness and condition
Representative samples are evaluated to confirm that the fruit meets established export specifications before processing begins.
Pre-Shipment Verification
Prior to loading, Viet Fruit conducts a final verification process that includes:
- Review of quality inspection records
- Verification of laboratory test results
- Confirmation of MRL compliance
- Packaging and labeling checks
- Export documentation review
This final assessment provides an additional safeguard to ensure customer specifications and regulatory requirements are fully met.
Container Loading Controls
Quality assurance continues through the loading stage. Containers are inspected before loading to verify:
- Cleanliness and hygiene condition
- Structural integrity
- Absence of odors and contaminants
- Proper temperature settings
- Functionality of refrigeration equipment
During loading, quality personnel monitor:
- Product handling practices
- Pallet arrangement and stability
- Airflow requirements
- Temperature management
- Container sealing procedures
Once loading is completed, container numbers and seal numbers are recorded to maintain full shipment traceability.
